Modelmaking has helped us shape our ideas in various ways over the years.
We often do not publish the rougher, concept models we make during the early stages of a project, preferring the larger, more polished ones that take more time and apply lots of care to show materiality and junction/ detail resolution as they are a more impressive artefact. However, all models are equally valuable and offer a moment to reflect and revise after capturing an important moment in the project’s ‘design life’.
We have over the years experimented with different materials, including timber veneers and plaster casting that are times both literal representations of the imagined future reality of the project and/ or abstracted concepts of it.
